Right now there is a shortage of foster carers in and around Forest Hill, there are around 120 children and teenagers in the borough who need foster families. That’s why we’re looking for dedicated people to help change their lives.
Young people come into care for many different reasons, but they all have the same thing in common, they need stable homes and loving people to take care of them.
Fostering isn’t always easy, like anything worth doing in life, it takes a lot of hard work, but you really can make a difference…
“My mum had been a foster carer for many years and I had been very involved in helping her with the children in her care. I then had a light bulb moment and thought I could do what I do best (looking after children) in my own home.”
“The most challenging part of fostering is having a young person who doesn’t want to be in care and you’re trying to make them feel comfortable and they just ain’t having it. The most rewarding is having a child say they really enjoy being in your home and you can see the change in them for the better.”
“If you’re thinking about it that means you’re half way there.”
If you have a spare bedroom, a good level of availability then there shouldn’t be anything holding you back.
Just complete the short form below and we’ll send you our guide to fostering so you can find out more 🙂
