Can I Foster If I'm Gay?

Asking yourself  ‘can I foster if I’m gay’? Then the answer is definitely! The LGBT community is somewhat under represented in fostering. If you are a part of the LGBT and interested in fostering children, then we would love to hear from you.

Your sexuality has no effect on your ability to look after children and be a foster carer. The most important thing from our perspective, is that you can offer a loving home to a child in need.

There are many children in London, who are in need of a loving and caring foster family. If you are a part of the LGBT community and are interested in becoming a foster carer, now is the time to start your journey.

To get you started, we have produced a guide to fostering, which gives you more information about what you need to become a foster carer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us – we’re only a phone call or email away!

GLF has long believed that people from the LGBTQ+ community make excellent carers. We we want to encourage more foster carers from this community to help more.
