Can I foster if I have a long-term health issue?
Having a long term health problem does not exclude you from being a foster carer. As with all applicants, we would need you to have a medical, and we would take the advice of our agency medical adviser as to whether the condition would affect your ability to care for a child.
We will start from the viewpoint that you know your abilities and unless given advice to the contrary you can be a foster carer.
We’d love to hear about your experiences or comments below.
