Can I be a foster carer if I have a criminal conviction or criminal record?
Yes you can probably be a foster carer with a criminal record. Depending on the nature of the crime, and how long ago it was it will or won’t be an issue.
The only direct no is when the crime was of a sexual nature or against a child.
Other than this, we will asses each person in context. As long as you are honest with us, we will judge you fairly.
